AutoWerkes is a top notch repair shop that specializes in German vehicles.
This shop has really knowledgeable techs with a lot of experience. They only use high quality parts and stand by the work they do. Saying that, let me point out they are not the cheapest out there, but they do the best work, and it's worth it.
I usually deal with Bruce in the office. He is one of the owners and really knows his stuff. He can identify your issue and use his computer database to give you an accurate estimate for the repair.
Bottom Line: You have a nice car, take it to a good shop. Autowerkes will fix it right :-)
Autowerkes did a great job on my Boxster. They were reasonable and very detailed oriented. I love that they'll give you a ride back to your home and also pick you up. Plus, my car was washed and detailed after the service. The owners (Bruce and Johnny, and I forget the other owner) were extremely knowledgeable and provided great insight into what things I needed. Also their prices are reasonable.
Johnny, Bruce, and Phil were all great--at least over the phone. I met with Johnny personally and he was really nice and patient, answered my questions, and was very thorough.
They all got back to me promptly when I called, and they had the car ready right when I needed it done. I like that they include picking you up and/or bringing the car to you as part of the service.
Their prices seemed a little on the high side. They charge $110 an hour which is about the going rate, but the parts seemed higher. Hard to tell though since Porsche parts are high any way you slice it. Overall I was treated very fairly.
The staff (I believe owners as well) offered us the most wonderful service when I desperately needed an expert to check the brakes of my Mercedes. They found an error caused by the pervious mechanic who replaced the brakes and fixed the problem in a timely and professional manner. I very highly recommend them to anyone needing an expert who they can trust!
You get what you pay for... top notch service from an indi shop that lives and breathes euro sport. These guys pay attention to every little detail. Maintenance and inspection through these guys is better than dealerships. No regrets, definately found my go to shop for anything Porsche related.
-no haggle no bs
-only oem or better parts
-knowledgable staff AND owner
-straight up PROS
They stand by their work and I now see why. UNDERSTAND, they're not low budget by any means but quite honestly, if you can afford the vehicles they work on, you can afford their service. Dont hesitate to swing by or give them a call.... hell, these guys will let you pick their brain at no charge and can go on for hours if not days with what they know and do best.
Bonus, got a mini detail after my 997 was complete. Didnt take advantage of the pickup and drop off though. (I didnt know) lol
I am disappointed with Autowerkes. I brought my 911 in with a check engine light, abs failure light, and psm failure light. I was told it needed an air mass sensor. I was quoted $600 for the part and $220 to install it.
I found the air mass sensor online for $214! Fortunately, Autowerkes said they would install the sensor if I had it shipped to them.
When I picked up the car, I was charged an additional $36 for gasoline! I left the car with almost a 1/2 tank and received it back with the low fuel light on! They drove the car almost 200 miles! What's worse is that the lights came back on within 5 miles of the shop.
I called twice and requested a call back from Bruce, the owner. I never got a call back.
Autowerkes didn't stand by their repair. Plus, do these guys really think they should be entitled to a 350% markup on parts?
My 987 started smoking. My water pump went out and the car was fuming. I towed it to Bruce, he did a full inspection, tested to make sure I didn't damage anything else, then he found out that I had warranty that would cover it. So I had to towed to the dealer. The bill would have ran me an easy $900. I asked him how much I owed him for the tests and inspection, he told me to be safe and shook my hand and that ended it right there.
