Tire Rotation

To avoid uneven tire wear it’s necessary to rotate your tires regularly. Depending on how you drive, it is recommended to rotate your tires between 5,000 miles to 8,000 miles. Rotating your tires is not only to prevent accidents, but it also wears down your tires at the same rate making purchasing tires less of a hassle. Handling will be more balanced, your vehicle will get better gas mileage and ultimately equates to a smoother ride.

Brakes Service

Replacing brake pads is a straightforward job, and need to be replaced periodically. What about brake rotors? They’re a more serious repair but no less important to replace when needed. In total, there are four brake rotors. Rotors may need to be replaced anywhere from 15,000 to 70,000 miles. Here are some signs your vehicle is ready for new brake rotors.

Shaking When You Brake

This can be a sign of failing rotors. It could mean the brake pads are having a problem meeting the rotors. Any unusual vibrating while braking should be looked at.

Noisy Brakes

Sounds don’t always correlate to bad rotors, however, It may be a possibility. Squealing accompanies a warped rotor, while worn-out rotors are more likely to produce a scraping sound. The problem may be the brake pads, which need to be replaced. For that reason, you must take it into a Specialist at Autowerkes.

Rotors are too Thin

If you suspect that your rotors are worn enough to be replaced, have one of our technicians measure their thickness. This is done with a micrometer across the center of the rotor. This is an essential part in the safety and care of your vehicle and worth the investment.

Electrical Repair & Service

One of the specialties of Autowerkes in Huntington Beach is performing electrical diagnostic and repairs on BMW, Mercedes, and Porsche vehicles. Our clients from Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Seal Beach, Newport Beach and surrounding Orange County cities count on getting a proper electrical repair with us. Most of all automotive systems are integrated together electrically since one system will affect the performance of another automotive system.  At Autowerkes, we will get your electrical repair performed quickly and efficiently.

Today’s Porsche, Mercedes, and BMW vehicles have become more complex with all the creature comforts that are now part of the vehicles. Having the factory software, current service and repair information and the latest diagnostic equipment gives us the opportunity to provide an efficient and accurate electrical repair. As an example the brake system is tied into the engine management and therefore a fault in one system may affect the performance of the other. Keeping current on how the new systems operate and function is critical to perform a proper diagnosis and electrical repair

Battery Replacement & Service

Replacing Batteries on most cars can be a simple matter. As you may know Mercedes, BMW and Porsche aren’t like most cars. When replacing a battery on any of these vehicles, there is a specific step by step process our technicians must take for proper installation. For all BMW models after 2004, when you replace a battery in your vehicle, first you must register the battery in the control module for the engine so it charges the battery at the correct rate. The vehicle’s system must recognize the new battery because when you insert a new battery, the alternator charges at a different pace. This is the same case with Mercedes which began in 2010, Porsche models in 2015. You can feel at ease when you bring your vehicle into Autowerkes for a battery replacement.

Our clients from Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Seal Beach, Newport Beach and other local cities enjoy the highest in personalized service. We offer local pickup and delivery and for those not able to be here during normal business hours, a drop box for keys and requested service. As a final step in all electrical repairs or any automotive work, a mini detail is performed. Please give us a call with your electrical questions on your BMW, Porsche or Mercedes. You may also stop by for a free personal consultation at any time.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT

Today a check engine light illuminates when there is a malfunction in the emission system that exceeds federal limits by a factor of 1.5. To the driver, nothing is different during vehicle operation except that the check engine light is on. However, a bad misfire condition will cause the check engine light to flash.

Autowerkes in Huntington Beach have been diagnosing and repairing check engine light faults on Porsche, BMW and Mercedes vehicles for customers living or working in Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Newport Beach, Seal Beach and surrounding Orange County cities. Our recurrent training policy produces customer satisfaction that is superior. Our technicians, shop foreman, and owner attend BMW, Porsche, and Mercedes training each year. Continuing education for our technicians is required to keep current with computer technology, model changes, new and updated system familiarization and accessory system operation.

Cooling System Services

The cooling system is composed of numerous passages inside the engine block and heads, a water pump to circulate the coolant, a radiator to cool the coolant, a thermostat to measure the temperature of the coolant, a radiator cap to regulate the pressure in the system, hoses to transport the coolant from the engine to radiator. It also stores the car’s heater system where the hot coolant is used to warm up the vehicle on a cold day.

Radiator Repair

At our shop in Huntington Beach, we always perform an initial test drive to experience the customers’ complaint and again test drive the vehicle after all repairs to confirm a successful drivability repair. One of our diagnostic computers is connected to the vehicle during these test drives to monitor engine or other systems operation and data stream. Since 1980 these procedures have produced results that create total customer satisfaction for our loyal clients.

Belt Replacement

The Serpentine Belt is a vital piece in your engine. It contributes to the operation of the alternator, water pump, power steering pump and air conditioning compressor. If your serpentine belt breaks, these systems will shut down causing your vehicle to overheat. A sign that indicates the belt may need replacing is an unusual sound or shriek from the engine caused by a split or worn out belt. The Technicians at Autowerkes inspect the belt for any damage.

Stop by for a free personal consultation or call us and we can give you additional details if your vehicle has a check engine light on or has any other drivability concern. We are open Monday thru Friday and look forward to hearing from you soon.
